Residential & Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment Program Overview
Alcoholism & Drug Rehab Knoxville TN
Stepping Stone to Recovery is a 12-Step based addiction treatment program in Knoxville Tennessee, located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, that uses a comprehensive approach to the treatment of addiction to alcohol and drugs.
Stepping Stone offers a full continuum of care, from 24-hour medically supervised detoxification from a broad spectrum of substances to a 12 Step-based model of treatment to family and group therapy to diagnoses of psychiatric problems, dual diagnoses and co-occurring disorders. Our professionally licensed counselors and therapeutic assistants are drawn from both academia and the local recovering community, and with a combined 134 years of recovery among them, they offer patients both intellectual approaches and real world experiences in combating addiction.
What To Expect During Treatment
Patients are initially admitted into the residential unit, which contains 46 beds for men and women who are of limited financial means and on government-issued insurance programs; after a detox stay that usually lasts 3 to 5 days and is monitored around the clock by trained medical personnel, patients are introduced to the larger Stepping Stone community, which includes 34 beds at a nearby supportive living facility.
As part of the residential treatment process, clients will be immersed in a therapeutic group environment that allows them to give and receive support from their peers; our trained medical staff is on call 24 hours a day, and our staff members consist of academically trained master’s level clinicians as well as recovering individuals who are working programs of recovery in their own lives, because at Stepping Stone, we value the contributions of both types of individuals to the recovery process. Family members will be given an opportunity for therapeutic involvement, and patients will engage in a number of recovery processes that follow a biopsychosocial approach to treatment, which mandates that treatment of physical, mental and spiritual components of the whole person must be addressed for successful, long-term recovery.
At Stepping Stone, we believe in laying a foundation for a recovery program that is long-lasting, without shortcuts that involve long-term substitutions of one drug for another or discharging a patient before their treatment process is complete because of bureaucratic red tape. We offer a different prescription for recovery, one that gives patients the tools necessary to find a new way to live, one they never thought possible while suffering from addiction to alcohol and drugs and one that can be sustained long after leaving our outpatient and extended care programs.
